Expansion supports demand from circuit designers that make the highly complex devices for infrastructure, automotive and IoT systems
San Jose, CA — — Presto Engineering Inc., a world leader in semiconductor engineering and backend turnkey industrialization and production services, today announced the opening of its new Meyreuil Provence Hub (MPH) in France. The facility will provide IC's industrialization, and supply chain management services primarily for communications, automotive and internet of things (IoT) markets. It will also offer expertise in micro controller and embedded memory and flash devices and secured components (EAL5+).
“While part of the semiconductor industry is shifting production and supply chain activities to Asia in order to make high-volume consumer devices, there is an increasing need for a highly reliable service provider next to design and product teams,” states Michel Villemain, CEO, Presto Engineering. “Many of these chipmakers specialize in highly complex devices for communications infrastructure, high-quality automotive and high-mix IoT applications. Our Meyreuil Provence Hub offers extensive expertise and capabilities in this area, and is a cost-effective supply chain for these customers.”
The hub employs a team of about 40 people and has more than 30 automated test equipment (ATE) systems and production probers in France and in Asia. The team has a track record of shipping 100s of millions of units in known good die (KGD) and packaged form.
The Meyreuil Provence Hub was formed as a result of the finalization of the partnership agreement announced on April 15, 2015 with INSIDE Secure, according to which INSIDE Secure would transfer to Presto Engineering Inc. its French-based semiconductor operations activities and its worldwide supply chain management.
